James T. “Jim” Morgan, 93, of Wellsboro and formerly of Armenia Mountain passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Green Home in Wellsboro, PA.  He was the husband of Fay (Tiller) Morgan who passed away July 9, 2010.


Jim was born on March 3, 1924 on Armenia Mountain, PA, son of the late George and Anna (Clark) Morgan. He was a 1943 graduate of Troy High School and retired in the 1980’s after a long successful career with the Troy Agway as their Farm Supply Manager.  Jim enjoyed camping and traveling, playing cards, and collecting coins.  He was an avid recycler, was a member of several social clubs, and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys when they were winning.  Jim always put his family first, was generous to all who knew him, and was Baptist by faith.


Jim survived by his sons: Kelvin (Irene) Morgan of Mansfield, PA, and Wayne (Sonya) Morgan of Troy, PA, his daughters: Anita Osgood of Gillett, PA, June (Ross) Cummings of Wellsboro, PA with whom he resided, May Decker along with Paul Ford of Chatham, NY, and Elaine Morgan of Troy, twenty one grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and Dear friend Catherine Weed. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Fay, his sons Jon and Dennis Morgan, his brothers: Raymond (Alida), Nelson (Lucille), his twin Harold (Irma) his sister Alice (Boyd) Brace and his son-in-law Edward “Ozzie” Osgood.


Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, April 3, 2017 and again from 3:00-4:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 West Main St. Troy, PA.  The funeral service to honor Jim’s life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation on Tuesday, April 4th at 4:00 pm at the funeral home with Jim’s grandson Ozzie Osgood officiating.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of Jim’s family in Glenwood Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, Jim’s family has asked everyone to recycle a can and memorial contributions may be made to the Tioga County Special Olympics PO Box 534 Wellsboro, PA 16901.
